What Is Farmapram?
Farmapram is the brand name for alprazolam sold in Mexico. This medication is used to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorder. Although Farmapram is similar to the American brand Xanax,’ it is not regulated or inspected and may contain dangerous additives like fentanyl.
Farmapram (Mexican Xanax) Identification
Mexican Xanax pills are long and rectangular without any imprints. These coated white capsules are scored multiple times down the front and back, dividing the bar into four sections. Although Farmapram capsules are not marked with a dose, they are available in strengths of 0.25 mg, 0.50 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg.
What Are the Effects of Farmapram?
The main ingredient, alprazolam, activates the effects of Farmapram.
Alprazolam belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines (Benzos). Benzodiazepines bind to a receptor in the central nervous system called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA-A). This action calms the nervous system, triggering a sedative and anti-anxiety effect.
To achieve these effects, physicians start their adult patients on a dosing schedule of 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg thrice daily.
Farmapram Side Effects
Along with the wanted effects of Mexican Xanax, one can expect a few uncomfortable side effects.
These common side effects include:
- Mood swings
- Worsening of COPD and sleep apnea
- Slowed reaction time
- Difficulty thinking
- Poor memory
Are Farmapram Pills Addictive?
As a Schedule IV controlled substance, alprazolam has a low risk for addiction. However, using alprazolam without a prescription increases the likelihood of developing tolerance.
When individuals take alprazolam as directed, they benefit from the full effects. Using it more than or longer than needed causes their body to adjust. According to Learn Genetics, this is called tolerance. Tolerance causes a person to use more of the drug than necessary, leading to substance use disorder.
